ATL Raise Concerns Over Children's Use Of Computers
A Northern Ireland teaching union has raised concerns over how long school children are spending on computers and digital gadgets.
The union, the Association of Teacher and Lecturers (ATL), say that children's ability to learn is being affected by out of school use of computers and gadgets, with some pupils unable to concentrate when they attend classes.
The union is holding its annual conference in Belfast, with their concerns over the issue being the main focus.
It is understood that there is no official guidance for parents over how much so-called screen time is suitable and safe for children, with the union calling on the Department of Education to take "urgent action" on the issue.
