Belfast Mayor In NYC Delegation
Lord Mayor of Belfast Máirtín Ó Muilleoir is currently in New York leading a delegation of business leaders to attract trans-Atlantic inward investment to the city.
Speaking as the delegation left Belfast International Airport, the Lord Mayor said: "Belfast in the Big Apple is the first outward business mission from the city to New York in 20 years, showcasing the very best of our companies and allowing start-up funds here to set out their stalls in New York.
"I am delighted to lead this mission of this inspiring band of business leaders. We will undertake a busy round of engagements including a meeting with Scott Stringer, the Comptroller of New York City, who has $120bn in his investment portfolio and a dinner with Irish American business chiefs in the prestigious boardroom of the New York Stock Exchange.
"Our aim is to attract investment, partnerships and jobs by placing Belfast as the best European destination for American business," concluded Councillor Ó Muilleoir.

Key Northern Ireland political figures will reconvene in New York today for a second day of economic talks. The Clinton Global Initiative conference opened yesterday, and was attended by Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams. He will be joined by First and Deputy First Minister Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness later.

Belfast City Council Stadium Plan Expenditure
Belfast City Council has approved further expenditure of £140,000 on a new business plan to examine building a regional stadium in Belfast. It is reported that Belfast City Council has already spent in the region of £60,000 on the issue of a stadium in the city. Two previous proposals for a stadium at Ormeau Park have been dismissed.
