Two Die In Separate Motorcycle Crashes

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding two separate motorcycle crashes in Northern Ireland over the weekend, in which two people died.

A 49-year-old died in Cushendun, County Antrim, when their motorcycle collided with a Suzuki SX4 on the Loughareema Road at around 10:35 on the morning of Saturday 31 May.

Police are also investigating the circumstances of a collision in which a 44-year-old motorcyclist died in Bellaghy, County Londonderry.

The collision on the Deerpark Road was reported to police at around 20:30 on Saturday.

Investigating officers are keen to hear from witnesses and can be contacted by calling the non-emergency number 101.

Race Tragedy Shocker In Dublin
A Northern Ireland-based motorcyclist has died following a crash at the Killalane Road Races, near Skerries, in north County Dublin. Victor Gilmore, 42, from Ballymoney was critically injured after he came off his bike at around 1.20pm on Sunday. The Irish police said he was rushed to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin, but was then pronounced dead.

Pensioner Dies In Co L'Derry Collision
An elderly woman has died after she was struck by a motorcycle in Co L'Derry on Thursday. Police said the collision occurred at around 5.50pm on the Drumrane Road in Limavady. The woman, aged in her 90s, was walking on the road when she was struck. She died at the scene.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of Nelson Cheung
A 24-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of Nelson Cheung. The 65-year-old restaurant owner died following an assault on the Caddy Road in Randalstown on 8 January. His wife was also injured when Mr Cheung's car was forced off the road. The man was arrested in Antrim on Tuesday.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.
