Murder Investigation Launched In Portstewart

A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of a woman's body on Wednesday afternoon in Portstewart.

Police say that the body of 69-year-old Margaret Evans as found at her home in Knockancor Drive. A post-mortem is due to take place today, but police say that Mrs Evans had been beaten.

Mrs Evans is said to have been well known in the town as, until January of this year, she ran a local hairdressers.

Police say that the investigation is at a very early stage, but they are treating it as murder and are continuing to question the 32-year-old.

Man's Body Recovered From Bangor Marina
Police have launched an investigation after the body of a man was recovered from Bangor Marina on Wednesday, 13 May. Police received a report that a man had entered the water shortly after 10.15am. Emergency services and police attended the scene and the body was recovered from the water. Police are not treating the death as suspicious.
