Game Of Thrones Exhibition Opens
A new Game Of Thrones exhibition has opened at Belfast's Waterfront Hall today and will run until 15 June.
The exhibition will feature numerous props and settings from the HBO fantasy show, which is filmed in Northern Ireland. Fans will be able to explore Kings Landing, sit on the Iron Throne and 'climb the wall' at the Oculus Rift interactive area.
The exhibition will also travel to New York, Toronto, Amsterdam and Sao Paolo.
First Minister Peter Robinson and deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness welcomed the arrival of the exhibition last night, meeting members of the cast and crew.
Peter Robinson said: "In 2013 the exhibition attracted more than 18,000 visitors to Northern Ireland from all over the world over 10 days and I am confident that it will easily exceed that number this time. Quite simply Game of Thrones is an amazing show made in spectacular locations across Northern Ireland.
"I commend all those involved in the production of Game of Thrones which is broadcast in more than 70 countries across the globe and is one of HBO's most successful shows ever made."
Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness added: "Demand to see the Game of Thrones Exhibition has again been exceptional; 11,000 tickets were snapped up in just two hours. I have no doubt it will be a resounding success like the series itself.
"To date the show has contributed in the region of £80m to the local economy and I am pleased the economic benefit will continue through Series 5, which HBO committed to earlier this year."
Culture Minister Carál Ní Chuilín said: "Game of Thrones has had a very positive impact on our local creative industries and economy and I am delighted that HBO have decided to continue filming here for a fifth series.
"I am committed to doing all that I can to ensure the continued production of Games of Thrones in the north of Ireland. It is also exciting that HBO have agreed to work with NITB and NI Screen to use Game of Thrones to promote the north's tourism.
"Last year the exhibition attracted 18,000 people so I hope that this year's exhibition is as successful."

DAERA Minister Confirms Commitment to Deposit Return Scheme
DAERA Minister Andrew Muir has reaffirmed his commitment to introducing a Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) in Northern Ireland. The DRS is designed to encourage recycling by offering a monetary incentive for returning single-use drinks containers. The scheme will cover PET plastic, steel, and aluminium containers ranging from 150ml to 3 litres.

Almost three months since we bid farewell to the world of Westeros, a must-see list featuring some of the most poignant props from the series has been released for the final month.
