Man Rescued From Black Mountain

A man has been described as in a stable condition after his rescue from Black Mountain on the outskirts of Belfast.

Police, the fire service, the ambulance service and the coastguard responded following reports of a person in distress on the mountain on Monday evening.

A PSNI helicopter was deployed during the emergency. The man was helped down and airlifted to a nearby hospital.

Five Arrested Over Rogue Trading

Five people have been arrested in relation to rogue trading and bogus calls across Northern Ireland.

Three men, two aged 21 and one aged 49 and a 16-year-old boy were detained along with a 23-year-old woman on Monday in The Close, Holywood.

Pair Rob Off-License With Screwdrivers

Two men have robbed an off license in Newtownards, County Down, armed with screwdrivers.

The men entered the Winemark at Hardford Link at around 18:30 on Sunday evening.

They threatened a man and woman working there and it is believed a sum of money was taken. No-one was injured.

Appeal Over 'Racist' Attack, Belfast

A man has been assaulted in what police are suspecting was a racially-motivated crime in Belfast.

Police said racist language was shouted at the man and he was punched in the face while walking in the Fountain Street area on Saturday morning.

Police said the attacker was with a woman and the two walked towards Castle Street and got on a bus on Royal Avenue at 10:06.

The man is described as being 30 to 40 years old, medium to large build, approximately six feet tall with a pale complexion and shaved dark hair.

He was wearing a yellow wind-breaker zipped jacket and dark colour tracksuit bottoms with three red vertical stripes down the side of each leg.

The woman is described as being about 35 years old and of medium build with shoulder length brown hair. She was wearing a blue coloured top with a hood.

Woman Arrested After Sudden Death Of Man In L'Derry
A woman has been arrested following the sudden death of a man in Magherafelt. A 46-year-old man died in L'Derry in the early hours of Tuesday, 05 December. Police are treating the death as suspicious. A 32-year-old woman has been arrested and is assisting police with their enquiries.

Man Arrested Over Paramilitary-Style Shooting In L'Derry
A man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style shooting in Co L'Derry. A 33-year-old man was shot in the legs and abdomen in the Lisfannon Park area on Tuesday, 08 August. Police described the assault as "brutal and horrific". The 43-year-old suspect was detained in L'Derry on Tuesday, 15 August.

Man Dies In Co L'Derry House Fire
A man aged in his 50s has died in a house fire in Magherafelt, Co L'Derry An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire at a house on Highfield Road, however police said that they don't believe the fire was suspicious. The man's identity has not yet been released.

Police Cancel Appeal For Missing Omagh Man
Police have said they believe missing Omagh man, Shane Sharkey, has been found in the Republic of Ireland. A police appeal for help in finding the 35-year-old has been cancelled, with police saying they now believe they know where he is. No further details have been released but police thanked the public for their help.

Man arrested after woman dies in collision
A 61-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road accident in County Down. A woman, believed to be in her 50s, was hit by a vehicle on the Comber Road in Newtownards at about 9.45pm last night. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
