Chef In Critical Condition After Accidentally Drinking Cleaning Fluid
A Belfast chef is in a critical condition in hospital after accidentally drinking what is believed to be oven cleaner.
40-year-old Sean Slane was working at Goodfellas Restaurant in west Belfast on Sunday when he drank the fluid that was in a drink bottle.
Mr Slane remains in a critical condition at the Royal Victoria Hospital.

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
Work has begun at several hospital sites across Northern Ireland as part of the preparations for the introduction of free car parking in May 2026. Health and Social Care Trusts have been actively preparing for the implementation of a new traffic management system since the Hospital Parking Charges Act was passed in 2022.

Man Released Over West Belfast Shooting Attack
A man arrested in connection with a shooting in west Belfast last year has been released. The 42-year-old man was arrested in Craigavon on Tuesday and has been released pending further enquiries. The victim, in his 40s, was shot through the window of the car he was travelling in on the Rossnareen Avenue in west Belfast on Thursday, 19 November.

Four-year-old boy dies in Scottish road crash
A four-year-old boy from Northern Ireland has died following a road traffic collision in Scotland. James Hayes, from Omagh in Co Tyrone died following the crash between a car and a motorcycle outside the village of Maybole at around 12.30pm on Monday. A Scottish man also died in the accident which involved a Peugeot 106 car and a Yamaha motorcycle.

Man Critical After Being Hit By Car In Co Tyrone
A man is in a critical condition in hospital after being struck by a car in Co Tyrone. The accident happened on the Strabane Road in Newtownstewart on Monday, 24 October. He is currently in intensive care at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast. The road has been reopened.
