£6m Wind Farm Receives Approval
Plans to construct a £6m wind farm in Co Antrim have been approved by Environment Minister Mark H Durkan.
It is understood the development will be located on a 30-acre site in Crumlin.
Those behind the initiative, Lightsource Renewable Energy, have said the site could generate 6.5MW of electricity.
Giving the go-ahead for the scheme, Minister Durkan said: "This is good news for renewable energy.
"This type of development helps sustain our environment through the use of renewable energy. These new, more sustainable technologies, will contribute to key Programme for Government targets for increasing renewable energy.
"This application was turned around in under four months which demonstrates my commitment to improving service delivery and supporting the green economy."
