Man Arrested Over Morphine Tablets

Police have arrested a man and seized morphine tablets from a property on the outskirts of west Belfast.

The suspected Class A drugs are thought to be worth £7,000 and were found during a search by police at Cherry Walk in Dunmurry on Friday afternoon.

The 35-year-old was detained on suspicion of drugs offences and police confiscated an air rifle and a number of other items.

Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Man arrested after M1 drugs find
Police and the PSNI drug squad have seized a substantial quantity of ecstasy tablets during an operation on the M1 motorway yesterday evening. Shortly before 11.30pm, officers stopped a car on the M1 country bound – close to Broadway, and following a search of the vehicle, recovered several thousand ecstasy tablets.

Man arrested after Fermanagh drugs find
A man has been arrested by police following a major drugs find in County Fermanagh yesterday evening. Detectives recovered around 200 suspected ecstasy tablets and suspected diazepam tablets from an address in the Irvinestown Road area of Enniskillen. The man, aged in his 20's, is currently assisting police with their inquiries.

Man Arrested After Police Seize 15,000 Diazepam Tablets In Co Antrim
A 32-year-old man has been arrested after police seized 15,000 diazepam tablets during a house search in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim. The man is being detained at Musgrave Police Station. He has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a class C controlled drug with intent to supply.

Man Arrested Over Murder Of George Gilmore
A 39-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of George Gilmore. Mr Gilmore, aged 44, was shot in the neck in Carrickfergus on Monday, 13 March. He died from his injuries in hospital the following day, 14 March. The suspect was detained in Co Antrim on Wednesday, 12 April, and is being questioned at Musgrave police station.
