Unemployment At Six-Year Low
Newly released figures from the Office for National Statistics have revealed that unemployment in the UK has fallen to 2.12m, down by 121,000 in the three months to May.
The Office for National Statistics (ONS) figures show that unemployment is now at its lowest in almost six years, standing at 6.5% in the three months to April.
Other figures shows that the number of jobseekers allowance claimants fell to 1.04m in June, down by 36,300.
The figures have been hailed as proof that the governments economic plan is working.

NI Unemployment figures show slight increase
Unemployment figures in Northern Ireland have shown a slight increase, according to the latest Labour Force statistics. The unemployment rate for the period July - September 2003 was 5.6%, an increase of 0.4 percentage points on the previous quarter from April – June.

Unemployment Figures Fall Between February And March
New figures have revealed official unemployment numbers have dropped 0.2% between February and March. The Central Statistics Office (CSO) publication states the official unemployment rate has fallen from 6.6% to 6.4%, and from 8.3% compared with March last year.
