Teen Bailed Over Carjacking

A teenager arrested by detectives investigating a carjacking incident in south Belfast has been released pending a report to the PPS.

The carjacking occurred in the Pretoria Street area of Stranmillis on Monday afternoon.

The 17-year-old male drove away in a green Toyota Yaris along with its female passenger. The car was then found in the Main Street area of Crumlin, where police made two arrests.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including hijacking and possession of an offensive weapon.

Belfast Trader Fined Over Clocked Car

A Belfast car trader who sold a five year old Volkswagen Passat with a mileage reading of 68,000 instead of at least 103,922 miles has been fined £600 at Belfast Magistrates' Court.

52-year-old Mr Patrick John Burrows pleaded guilty to three charges under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations 2008.

A compensation order of £955 was awarded to the purchaser of the car.

Church Arson Attack A 'Hate Crime'

Police have said they are treating an arson attack on a church in County Antrim as a hate crime.

The attack occurred at about 01:30 in the early hours of Sunday, when flammable liquid was poured on the front door of St Mary's Star of the Sea Church on the Shore Road in Newtownabbey and set alight

Police Appeal Over Injured Limavady Woman

Police have appealed for information following the discovery of a woman seriously injured in a house in Limavady, County Londonderry, on Thursday evening.

27-year-old Danielle Allen was found in a house at Glenmore Gardens and taken to hospital.

She is thought to be in a serious, but stable, condition.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

Colin Horner Murder: Man Arrested
A 29-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the murder of Colin Horner. Mr Horner, 35, was fatally shot in front of his young son in a supermarket car park on Sunday, 28 May. The man was arrested in the Newtownards area on Friday, 16 June. He has been taken to Musgrave Police station for questioning.

Armed Robber Dresses As Police Officer
Police are searching for two men in connection with the attempted armed robbery of a shop in Co Armagh. Police said that one of the men who attempted to rob the shop on West Street, Portadown, was dressed as a policeman. It is understood two men entered the shop at about 10am on Thursday, one of them was carrying a suspected firearm.

Man Arrested After Police Car Chase In West Belfast
A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a police car chase in west Belfast. The PSNI saw a red Volkswagen driving in the Beechmount area with no lights on. They signalled for the vehicle to stop, however a pursuit commenced onto the Falls Road where it was stung by other officers from the auto crime team.
