Teenagers escape injury in shooting

Police are appealing for information after two teenagers escaped injury during an early morning shooting in Co Londonderry.

A 16-year-old boy and 17-year-old girl were inside their flat in Coleraine when two men tried to force their way into the flat in Rosemary Place.

The teenage boy escaped by jumping through a front window just as the shot was fired.

No motive has yet been established for the attack.

Elsewhere, a teenager has been stabbed in an attack in the Waterside area of Londonderry.

The 14-year-old boy was cut on the arm and leg with a Stanley knife when he was approached by a man at Dunfield Terrace at around 11pm on Wednesday night.

Police do not believe the attack was sectarian.

Man Shot In Both Legs In L'Derry
A man in his 30s has been shot several times in the legs in Co L'Derry. The shooting attack happened in the Rinmore Drive area at around 10.30pm on Tuesday, 09 August. The victim was shot in each ankle and once in the thigh. He is currently being treated in hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police Appeal After Arson Attack In Newtownards
Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.

Appeal Following Arson Attack In L'Derry
PSNI detectives have issued an appeal for information following a serious arson attack in the Clon Dara area of L'Derry on Saturday, 23 November. Shortly before 8.20pm, police received a report that an accelerant had been used to ignite the front door and letterbox of a house in the area.

Woman And Son Escape Injury After Shooting Attack In Co Armagh
A woman and her son have escaped injury following a shooting attack in Co Armagh. Shots were fired at a property in the Cloghoge Road area of Cullyhanna on Wednesday, 21 February. Windows were broken in the living room, kitchen and sitting room areas. The woman and child were inside the property at the time of the attack.

PSNI Appeal For Information About West Belfast Shooting
The PSNI have appeal for witnesses to or any one with any information about a shooting incident in west Belfast on Wednesday night. A man was shot in the leg at Creeslough Gardens at around 21:30 on Wednesday night. It is understood that victim is in his 40s and his injuries are not life threatening.
