Woman Charged With Terrorism Offences
A woman has been charged with terrorism offences after she allegedly tried to identify individual's currently under the PSNI Witness Protection Scheme.
The offences are said to have occurred when the woman, aged 32, worked for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive. She is accused of collecting information that is likely to be useful to terrorists and misconduct in public office.
It is understood she was arrested in Belfast on Monday. She is due to appear at Laganside Magistrates' Court today (31 July).
A second woman, aged 28, was also arrested on Monday and has since been released pending further enquiries.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the PSNI said: "The Police Service of Northern Ireland takes its Witness Protection obligations extremely seriously and continually reviews measures to keep individuals safe.
"Under the terms of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005, it is an offence to disclose the identities of individuals subject to protection arrangements. As such, police will not be doing so in this case."

Investigation Launched Following Fatal Crash In Co Antrim
Police have launched an investigation following a fatal crash in Co Antrim. The collision, between a bus and a car, happened in Randalstown at around 2.45pm on Sunday, 11 February. A 58-year-old woman died as a result of injuries she sustained in the incident. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Woman Sexually Assaulted In Omagh
Police have appealed for information after a 24-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in Omagh. The attack is thought to have happened in a walkway in the Johnston Park area between 1am and 3am on Sunday (30 November). Detectives want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may be able to assist the investigation.

Pensioner attacked during burglary of her home
A 90-year-old woman was assaulted during a burglary of her home in Ballygowan, Co Down last night. The woman was confronted by a teenager after hearing noise in her kitchen. The youth then assaulted the elderly woman before escaping into an alley at the back of the house. Police believe an accomplice then joined the assailant.

Man arrested after woman dies in collision
A 61-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a fatal road accident in County Down. A woman, believed to be in her 50s, was hit by a vehicle on the Comber Road in Newtownards at about 9.45pm last night. The victim’s name has not yet been released.
