£200k Invested In Banbridge Road Network
Over £200,000 is being invested in the road network in the Leitrim/Ballyward area of Banbridge District area over the next few months, according to the Department for Regional Development.
Resurfacing work is expected to start before the end of the month on the Magheramayo Road, as well as on the adjoining Dollys Brae and Gargarry Roads.
Pair Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
Two people have been convicted at Belfast Magistrates' court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
27-year-old Natasha Finlay of Mount Vernon Road, Belfast claimed Housing Benefit and Jobseekers Allowance totalling £8,236 while failing to declare employment. She was given a four month prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay court costs of £52.
Thomas Winter, 26, of Glasgow Street, Belfast claimed Housing Benefit and Income Support totalling £7,440 while failing to declare employment. He was given a four month prison sentence suspended for 12 months and ordered to pay court costs of £92.
Car Damaged In Belfast Arson
A car has been damaged in a suspected arson attack in north Belfast, it has been reported.
The car was in the driveway of a house at Alliance Road. The fire, which began at about 03:15 in the early hours of Wednesday morning, also damaged the front door of the house.
Firefighters were called to the scene to put out the blaze.
Security Alert, Killyleagh
A security alert is underway in Killyleagh, County Down.
The alert follows the discovery of a suspicious object at Castleview on Wednesday.
The army bomb squad has been tasked to the scene.

A number of roads remain closed across Northern Ireland following the damage caused by Storm Ali. The following roads are still closed, however the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) is working to clear the obstructions along with its multiagency partners.

Road Closed In North Belfast Following Collision
The Ligoniel Road in north Belfast has closed following a one-vehicle collision. The road has been closed in both directions near the Wolfhill Road, according to the police. Diversions have been put in place and motorists are being advised to avoid the area. No other details have been released.

£950,000 Road Schemes For Armagh
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has announced a major investment in the roads network in Armagh. Resurfacing schemes will take place on Keady Road, Newtownhamilton; Summerisland Road, Ardress and Derrynoose Road, Keady in the coming months. Work is also due to be completed on the Armagh Road, Charlemont by the end of September.
