Ireland Knocked Out Of Women's Rugby World Cup
Ireland's Women's Rugby World Cup team has crashed out of the tournament following a 7-40 defeat against England in Paris.
England's win will see the team reach the Rugby World Cup final for the fourth time in a row.
Ireland's defeat, however, mars a victory over defending champions New Zealand earlier in the tournament, as well as the fact that the team progressed farthest in the tournament than any Irish rugby team previous.
Northern Ireland Sports Minister Carál Ní Chuilín said: "Each of the players, which included Ulster’s Ashleigh Baxter and Grace Davitt, management and members of the backroom team can take great pride from what was a real team effort and I trust that the achievements of the girls’ will encourage more people to take up Women’s Rugby in the north and across the island."
