Poundland Store Fined For Three Separate Food Safety Offences
A Poundland store in east Belfast has been fined a total of £600 for three separate food safety offences.
The store at Connswater Shopping Centre, which is owned by Poundland Ltd, Willenhall, West Midlands, was fined £200 for each offence:
• Failing to keep food premises clean and maintained in good repair and condition
• Failing to ensure the construction of the food premises permits good food hygiene practices and protects against pests
• Failing to implement adequate procedures to control pests.
The prosecution was brought by Belfast City Council following an inspection of the premises by council environmental health staff on May 15, 2013.
