Rapid7 To Set Up Development Centre In Belfast
Enterprise, Trade and Investment Minister Arlene Foster has announced that Boston software engineering company Rapid7 is setting up a development centre in Belfast, creating 75 jobs.
Rapid7 specialises in security solutions, providing customers with insight into the security state of their IT, data assets and users across virtual, mobile, private and public cloud networks.
Arlene Foster said: "Rapid7 is one of the USA's fastest growing software security companies and it is establishing a presence in Northern Ireland, creating 75 highly skilled jobs. The Belfast team will be capable of designing, building, testing and releasing both on-premise software and cloud-based services, and will partner with other Rapid7 software teams based in North America.
"Not only are these jobs highly skilled, they are highly paid. The new positions, which will be created over the next three years, will have an average salary of over £40,000, generating over £3million annually for the local economy.
"This investment is a further boost to our already strong ICT sector, which has already attracted many global companies over recent years."
Invest NI has offered support of £510,000 for the investment.
