Derry insurance firm invest £100k in refurbishment
A local insurance company has invested over £100,000 at its premises in Londonderry.
Abbey Insurance Brokers, which is celebrating 30 years in the business, said the refurbishment of its premises in the Diamond was a further commitment by the firm to its North West customers.
The investment is likely to create a further four or more jobs over the next few months on top of the six staff already there.
Branch Manager Eilish Friel said that the increase in customers coming in to enquire about insurance has increased by around 50%. She added: "Although around half of our work would be done over the phone these days, at our North West office people like to call in themselves, see a friendly face and be able to speak to someone local about their insurance needs.
"Being downstairs now, we have good access for people with disabilities, parents with prams and pensioners, and the bright new offices have given the staff a lift as well.”
Previously the business had operated from the first floor of the premises. This week's investment announcement is just one of a number of improvements currently being made across the business over the next few months.
