Man beaten with broken bottles
A man was recovering at home today after being assaulted in west Belfast early this morning.
The 22-year-old was walking along the junction of the Springfield Road and Whiterock Road when he was attacked by two men.
The victim was initially knocked to the ground after being hit on the back of the head with a bottle. His attackers then repeatedly punched and kicked him as he lay on the ground, as well as hitting him in the face with broken bottles.
The man was rushed to the Royal Victoria Hospital for treatment amid fears that he may lose the sight in his left eye. However, he was later released after receiving treatment for his injuries.
