NI Construction Firms Win Hull Contract
Graham and Lagan Construction have jointly won a £100 million contract to redevelop dock land in Hull for use as a wind turbine factory.
It is understood the work will involve the two Northern Irish firms working together to reclaim 7.5 hectares of the Humber river, creating a new quay.
The Green Port Hull will require earthworks, dredging berths and building internal access roads and service networks.
It is understood as soon as Graham and Lagan Construction complete their work, German firm Siemens will build a wind turbine facilities on the site.

NI Builders Hardest Hit In UK
Northern Ireland builders are being hit much harder by the slowdown in the property market compared to their UK counterparts, the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) has said. In a report published yesterday, the FMB revealed that NI builders are reporting a workload of 30% less than the UK average.

SF Calls For Action On NI Mental Health Services
Sinn Féin has called for more to be done to improve mental health services across the north of Ireland. The party's mental health spokesperson, MLA Órlaithí Flynn, made the call after the release of the Registrar General's 2023 Annual Report which has highlighted an increase in deaths by suicide in 2023.

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
Work has begun at several hospital sites across Northern Ireland as part of the preparations for the introduction of free car parking in May 2026. Health and Social Care Trusts have been actively preparing for the implementation of a new traffic management system since the Hospital Parking Charges Act was passed in 2022.
