80 Jobs For Irish Auction Firm Expansion

80 jobs are expected to be created with the expansion of an Irish auction firm into Great Britain, it has been announced.

City Auction Group operates in Belfast, Omagh and Dublin and is set to open a specialist automotive remarketing centre at the Rockingham Motor Speedway in Northamptonshire this month.

The firm will be recruiting staff for roles including telesales, administration, sales, vehicle presentation, inspection, defleet and general management. City Auction said it had already recruited 30 new staff so far, with plans to employ a further 50 by the end of the year.

Michael Tomalin, Managing Director of City Auction Group, said: "We are delighted to be opening our new auction centre at Rockingham Motor Speedway. It is one of the UK’s leading event venues, automotive testing and race circuits and we are very excited about using this facility to host, what will be some of the UK’s largest car auctions.

"Rockingham offers us a great central location with unparalled auction and defleet facilities. With over 100 acres at our disposal, we have the capability of holding hundreds of cars and delivering a wide range of services for our corporate customers. We will be able to offer prime vehicle storage with inspection, refurbishment and vehicle handover pods, supported by specialist corporate auction programme to our UK customers."

City Auction Group is set to host its inaugural auction event at Rockingham on 5 February 2015.
