540 Jobs Announced By Randox
540 jobs are to created over four years as a result of a £29m capital investment by diagnostics firm Randox.
Randox, headquartered in Crumlin, Co. Antrim, specialises in the development of diagnostic tests and technology, primarily targeted at hospital, clinical, food safety, toxicology and veterinary laboratories.
First Minister Peter Robinson said: "Today’s announcement will underpin the company’s aim of increasing revenues by 60% to almost £150m by 2018 through more efficient manufacturing and by speeding up the development of new products.
"Randox currently employs almost 800 people in its sites in Northern Ireland and, as a result of today’s announcement, that figure will rise to 1,300 employees by 2018. This is very welcome news."
The deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness said: "This is a phenomenal announcement by Randox one of our major exporters. The new jobs will generate over £16.2m a year in salaries to the local economy with an average salary of £30,000. The new jobs will include production, administration, research, sales and marketing posts.
"Randox is a company founded locally but with an established global presence. This investment signals their continued commitment to the north of Ireland and will have a positive impact on Randox’s extensive local supply chain. I commend founder Dr. Peter Fitzgerald and his team as they continue to be at the forefront of the diagnostics industry."

A care home in Limavady is to create 100 new jobs. Cornfield Care Centre is to open a new 52-bed unit following a £3.4m investment. The care centre, which currently employs 120 people, has announced 80 full-time positions and 20 part-time jobs. The care centre is owned and managed by husband and wife, Jervis and Jennifer Nutt.

A County Antrim business owner has criticised the lack of support he received from Invest NI, which has resulted in him opening a new based in the Republic. County Donegal is now set to gain 135 new jobs, when Randox Laboratories opens its new diagnostic and research facility in Dungloe.
