Xellient To Set Up Office In Singapore
Belfast-based Xellient, a leading recruitment consultancy for the energy and environmental industries worldwide, has been assisted by Invest Northern Ireland to set up an office in Singapore.
Xellient is now serving clients in Asia from the office that it opened in early December. The company has received a range of practical support and advice from Invest NI through accessing programmes and guidance, especially from the Trade and in-market teams.
The decision to set up in Singapore was announced by Cathy McCorry, Xellient’s Managing Director and founder of the business in 2013, and welcomed by Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director.
Announcing the expansion in Singapore, Cathy McCorry said: "We have established meaningful relations with global energy conglomerates in the Asia-Pacific market and the new Singapore office serves as a gateway for partnership opportunities with local skilled professionals and for forging new alliances with companies across the continent.
"We've benefited enormously from the advice and practical support provided by Invest NI to help us grow our business outside Northern Ireland.
"Our decision was influenced by the very positive long-term outlook for oil and gas in Singapore. Strong economic trends in Asia-Pacific, along with rapid population growth and economic development, will continue to drive energy demand and thus expenditure on exploration and production activities. This is creating exciting business opportunities which will be better able to exploit by having an office in Singapore as success in this market is reliant on establishing and maintaining relationships.
"The step to focus on Asia Pacific and the calibre of our Northern Ireland customer base, together with the development and implementation of our business development strategy will allow us to realise our full potential in both the local and international markets. Our Belfast office serves as the nucleus for our business."
