New Jobs Announced For Tralee
Fine Gael TD for Kerry and Minister of State with Responsibility for the Diaspora, Jimmy Deenihan, has welcomed the announcement of new jobs for Tralee with the launch today of Irish TV's new Munster regional hub in the Kerry Technology Park.
He said: "I was delighted to be on hand to launch Irish TV’s new Munster regional hub in Tralee. Twenty new jobs are to be created as a result of this move. This is a significant vote of confidence in the Kerry economy and in the skilled and educated young people of our County.
"There is a perception out there that the economic growth is happening only in Dublin. While this may have been the case at the beginning of the recovery, we can now see the benefits spreading to the regions also. Recent CSO figures show that since the launch of the Government’s Action Plan for Jobs in February 2012, unemployment in Kerry has dropped by 22%.
"The location of Irish TV in Kerry will also be good for the local community as they plan to feature local shows and local news as part of their programming. I wish them the very best of luck with their new regional hub in Tralee."
