Met Office Issues 'Yellow' Weather Warning
A 'yellow' weather warning has been issued for snow in Northern Ireland.
The alert has been issued for mid-week.
The Met Office has said the "be aware" alert will be in place from 3pm on Wednesday until late on Thursday. Coastal areas, as well as low-lying areas, are said to expect snowfall of between 2cm and 5cm, with up to 10cm expected on higher ground. Strong winds are also expected, making conditions more hazardous.
A spokesperson for the forecaster is quoted as saying: "The public should be aware of the potential for disruption to travel.
"An active cold front is expected to push southeast across the UK during Wednesday introducing an increasingly cold and unstable air mass.
"Showers will become frequent and heavy, increasingly falling as snow in the north and west, and driven well inland by strong to gale force northwesterly winds. Accumulating snow is likely, especially overnight."
