DPP members win entitlement to time off work

Members of District Policing Partnerships will now be entitled to time off, during working hours, in order to fulfil their duties.

A spokesperson for the Department of Employment and Learning (DEL) said the new right would help to facilitate the effective operation of the partnerships.

The Time Off for Public Duties (No 2) Order (Northern Ireland) 2003, comes into operation on 24 August.

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland

Ministers Recognise Work Of US Special Envoy Joe Kennedy
The First Minister and deputy First Minister has thanked U.S. Special Envoy to Northern Ireland for Economic Affairs, Joe Kennedy III, for his contribution to furthering economic links with the U.S. The Special Envoy is in Belfast for a series of events marking his term in office.

Taoiseach To Visit Orange Order Headquarters
Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is expected to visit the Orange Order headquarters. The Press Association understands he will tour Schomberg House in Belfast on Friday, 08 June. The visit will mark the first time the head of the Irish government will have visited the headquarters. Mr Varadkar is also expected to meet with Orange lodge members.

Time Zone Split For Ireland?
The island of Ireland could be split into two different time zones, following the debate of a Brighter Evenings Bill in the Dáil. TDs are debating whether or not to introduce a measure in the Republic of Ireland that would see clocks move an hour forward; putting them out of sync with Northern Ireland.
