Aer Arann suspend Dublin-Belfast service
The Belfast City to Dublin airline route has been suspended, it was announced yesterday.
Aer Arann, the airline behind the route, blamed low passenger numbers for the suspension of the service.
In a statement, the Irish regional airline said: "While disappointed with the development, the consistently low load factors experienced on the route necessitated the airline's decision to suspend services."
Launched in June, the route was aimed specifically at business passengers. It was hoped that the new route would carry around 40,000 passengers per year. These figures never materialised.
The service will be suspended from Monday 25th August.

Roads Service Ready For Winter Weather
Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has confirmed that the Department's winter service team is prepared to tackle the current cold snap. Around 300 staff and 130 gritters are ready to salt main roads, while 12 snow blowers are available for deployment if necessary. Easyjet announce new Belfast routes to Berlin and Paris
Budget airline Easyjet has announced two new routes from Belfast International Airport to Italy and Germany. The routes, which are being supported by the Air Route Development Fund, will see a four day a week service run from Aldergrove to Rome and Berlin, from 1 July to 31 October 2005, and daily thereafter.

Zoom Airline 'Crashes'
An airline, which employed around 700 people - 450 staff in Canada and 260 staff in the UK - has ceased to trade, leaving about 100 passengers expecting to fly to Canada today stranded. UK-Canadian company Zoom has cancelled all flights, blaming the cost of aviation fuel.
