Two Women Killed In Separate Accidents

Two women have died in separate road crashes in Northern Ireland.

Both incidents occurred on Tuesday (10 February).

A woman, understood to be in her 70s, was involved in a three-vehicle collision on the Springvale Road, Ballyhalbert in Co Down at around 4.30pm.

The drivers of the cars were not said to be injured.

In the second accident, a woman in her 50s died following a two-vehicle collision on the Lisnevenagh Road, between Antrim and Ballymena. The crash happened shortly before 8.45pm. The driver of the second car, a male, was taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The road has since re-opened to traffic.

Anyone who witnessed either accident or who has information, is asked to contact police.
