Attempted Armed Robbery In Belfast

A masked man has attempted to rob a business in west Belfast.

The incident happened in the Carrigart Avenue area, located off the Glen Road in the west of the city, at around 7.30pm on Wednesday (11 February).

Police have said the man was dressed in black and wearing latex gloves. He is also thought to have been armed with a large knife and demanded staff at the premises hand over money. They refused and he fled empty handed.

He has been described as being around 5ft 2in/5ft 3in tall, of slim build, and was wearing a black hooded coat, black tracksuit bottoms with a light stripe down the sides, black trainers, a black balaclava and black trainers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.

Attempted Carjacking In West Belfast
Police are investigating an attempted carjacking in west Belfast on Tuesday, November 19th. At around 5:30pm, a man entered a parked car at Hillhead Court and attempted to steal it. A woman passenger was assaulted when she resisted the man's demands. The suspect, described as a man in his 20s wearing all black, fled the scene on foot.

Doctor’s bag stolen from surgery car park
Detectives in West Belfast are appealing for information after a doctor’s bag was stolen from a car in west Belfast. The window of the blue Mercedes car was smashed and the bag which contained drugs, a blank prescription pad and a number of other items were taken. The incident happened shortly after 12.

Appeal Issued For Two Missing Teenage Girls
The PSNI have issued an appeal to help trace two missing teenagers. Cora Campbell and Emma McNally were last seen in Newtownards at around 2pm on Monday, 02 January. Police believe they may have travelled to the Belfast area together. Cora is described as being around 5ft 3inches in height with short purplish hair.
