Thousands Of NIPSA Members To Take Part In Strike

Trade union NIPSA has announced thousands of its members will take part in a planned strike this Friday (13 March), over budget cuts on jobs and public services.

Unison and members of the Irish National Teacher's Organisation are also taking part in the strike.

NIPSA described the cuts as "unprecedented".

It is also urging members of the NI Civil Service, the Health Service, the Education Boards and the NI Assembly to join the strike.

Brian Campfield, NIPSA General Secretary, said: "The strike action on 13 March is designed to highlight the unacceptable nature of these austerity driven cuts and to provide workers and the community in which they live with some hope that this attack on their community can be halted."
