Jobs Event To Take Place In Sligo
Fine Gael TD for Sligo/ North Leitrim, John Perry, has announced that a Stakeholder Forum for the Action Plan for Jobs Border (North West) Region, will take place in the Sligo Park Hotel on Thursday 26th March.
Mr Perry said: "This Sligo stakeholders' meeting will help inform the Action Plan for Jobs in the Border North West region. Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton is leading a new initiative to develop and implement Regional Action Plans for Jobs throughout the country and I am delighted that Sligo is the venue for one of the main meetings.
"The national Action Plan for Jobs has overseen the creation of over 90,000 news jobs across the country since its launch in February. While Sligo has seen some benefit, with the Live Register decreasing by 12% in that period, there is still a lot more we can do to create employment in the county and wider region.
"The Regional Action Plan for Jobs process will identify each region’s strengths, competitive advantages and areas of opportunity, and produce an action-oriented plan to support enterprise growth and jobs in the region. Consultation with regional stakeholders from both the private and public sector will be a crucial part of the process."
