Heat is on for Bannsiders

Coleraine go into tonight's Uefa Cup first round second leg qualifying tie against UD Leiria in Portugal with few worries but the extreme humidity.

Marty Quinn's men need only a draw or better to qualify following their 2-1 win at the Showgrounds two weeks ago.

The Bannsiders only injury worries are that of midfield duo Stephen Beatty and Ian McCoosh. Beatty is suffering with a leg injury while McCoosh has a ankle problem.

However, the main concern for Coleraine will be the heat and humidity. Temperatures at the time of kick-off (9pm BST) are likely to be in the mid-20s with high humidity.

Meanwhile, the other Irish league side in action this evening, Portadown will hope to restore some pride following the 4-0 mauling they received at the hands of Malmo.

Ronnie McFall's men kick-off their second leg tie at Shamrock Park at 7.30pm.
