Ashers Bakery Supporters Fill Waterfront Hall
More than 2,000 people filled the Waterfront Hall in Belfast on Tuesday night in support of Ashers Baking Company.
The bakery is facing legal action over its refusal to fulfil an order for a cake with a pro-gay marriage slogan on it.
The Christian Institute, which is supporting the bakery in the case, arranged an event at the Waterfront Hall to show support for the "Christian-owned business".
In a statement from the group, they said: "It is thought that as many as 500 had to be turned away due to lack of space in a venue which has a capacity of close to 2500.
"We have been overwhelmed by this incredible show of public support."
The bakery is accused of discrimination under the Equality Act (Sexual Orientation) Regulations (NI) 2006 and the Fair Employment and Treatment Order (NI) 1998.
The civil case is due to get underway on Thursday.

SF Calls For Action On NI Mental Health Services
Sinn Féin has called for more to be done to improve mental health services across the north of Ireland. The party's mental health spokesperson, MLA Órlaithí Flynn, made the call after the release of the Registrar General's 2023 Annual Report which has highlighted an increase in deaths by suicide in 2023.

Tributes have been paid to Northern Ireland motorcycle racer William Dunlop, who was killed following a crash during the Skerries 100 road race in Dublin. The 32-year-old Ballymoney rider was competing in an Open practice session when he crashed and later died from his injuries on Saturday, 07 July.
