Four Charged Over 'Skunk' Cannabis Find

Four men have been charged as part of an international investigation into the supply of 'skunk' cannabis into Northern Ireland.

The men, aged 33, 32, 30 and 29 are due to appear in court with a number of offences related to drug trafficking and money laundering.

Police discovered £800,000 of 'skunk' and money during searches in Belfast, Greenisland, Bangor, Newtownards and Ballywalter. Six people in total were arrested.

Eight have also been retained in Italy.

The men are due to appear in Newtownards Magistrates' Court on today, Thursday.

Three arrested in connection with Lockhart murder
Police in Belfast have today arrested three men in connection with the murder of a man in the east of the city last summer. North Belfast man , Jameson Lockhart, was fatally shot as he sat in a lorry at the junction of Templemore Avenue on the Lower Newtownards Road in July 2005.

Police Appeal After Arson Attack In Newtownards
Detectives have renewed an appeal for information following a deliberate arson attack at a vacant property in the Weaver's Grange area of Newtownards. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 17 November, 2023. Police and firefighters were called to the scene at around 12:40am.

Man In Court Over Drugs, Money Laundering And Immigration Offences
A man has been charged with a number of drugs, money laundering and immigration offences. The 51-year-old was arrested following a PSNI operation which also involved police in Sussex and Home Office Immigration officials in London on Monday, 19 February. The suspect was detained and a sum of cash was also seized.
