Man Attacked With Iron Bars In L'Derry
A man has been beaten with iron bars in a paramilitary style attack in L'Derry.
The victim was assaulted at a property on Ballymagowan Avenue just after midnight on Monday.
A woman and two children were also in the house at the time.
The man sustained injuries to his head and legs and is being treated in hospital.
Chief Inspector Tony Callaghan said: "Police work diligently to find evidence to bring those responsible before the courts. Paramilitary style attacks have a significant impact on the local communities and PSNI work alongside local communities in an effort to bring an end to this unacceptable violence.
"Those who are involved in paramilitary style attacks do not represent the interests of any community nor contribute anything to it. Communities have a choice, and it is clear that the vast majority of people here have chosen to support the police and support law and order. Those small groups of individuals who continue to try and terrorise people and commit criminal acts must be isolated from communities."
Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

Detectives from the Police Service of Northern Ireland's Organised Crime Unit, in partnership with Belfast Harbour Police, have made a significant breakthrough in their fight against drug crime. On Friday evening, November 22nd, a vehicle was intercepted and searched in the West Bank Road area of north Belfast.

Man Jailed In Connection With Annahilt Cannabis Farm
The PSNI has welcomed the sentencing of a man at Craigavon Crown Court in connection with a cannabis farm disovered in Annahilt in February, 2023. Clive Weir, from the Annahilt area, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 18 months on licence.

Man Dies After Bus Fall In Belfast
Detectives are investigating the death of an 80-year-old man who fell from a bus in Belfast. Police have said that they believe the man was travelling on a 2J Translink Metro bus service at around 11:15am on Friday, 08 November, when he suffered a fall as the bus travelled along Royal Avenue, near it's junction with North Street.
