Polling Station In Dungannon To Close

A polling station in Moygashel, Dungannon, is to close.

The final decision was made following a review.

Sinn Féin Westminster candidate for Fermanagh South Tyrone, Michelle Gildernew, welcomed the news.

Ms Gildernew said: "It is clear that the presence of a large number of loyalist flag protestors outside the polling station deterred many from exercising their democratic right. It intimidated many, from across all sections of our community, from using the polling station.

"While I understand that some people may have to travel slightly further other will have less travelling to do it is undoubtedly the a better option than to allow this level of intimidation to happen again."
