Dell To Create 100 New Jobs In Limerick
Dell has announced that it is creating 100 new Innovation Technology R&D roles at its Limerick Campus.
The investment in digital innovation will support the company's ongoing technology transformation enhancing the end to end sales, customer and partner experience. The investment builds on an announcement in October which saw 60 Dell Commerce Services roles created at the R&D Centre in Dublin, to drive the transformation of Dell's online platform. With the creation of the two Centres Ireland will become a central development hub for Dell's Innovation Technology team.
The Limerick based R&D team will work closely with the R&D team based in Cherrywood, Co. Dublin as well as with IT colleagues located across the globe to help support and drive Dell’s overall digital transformation strategy.

Limerick Looses 500 Jobs, But Cork Promised Thousands
In another devastating blow for Limerick workers, a major hi-tech manufacturer has announced almost 500 job losses. Some 477 workers at RR Donnelly (formerly Banta) will lose their jobs at Raheen Industrial Estate. The jobs are to be phased out over nine months.

The creation of 150 new cloud computing jobs at Dell’s Irish operating bases in Limerick and Dublin over the next two years will serve as “a shot in the arm to the ICT industry in both regions”. 400 Limerick Jobs To Go At Dell
Around 400 temporary jobs are set to go at a Dell computer plant in Limerick, as the economic crisis takes a stronger hold. Most of the workers affected are believed to have worked at the plant for between three and 18 months.
