SF Slams Former Health Minister
Sinn Féin has hit out at former Health Minister Jim Wells after it emerged he will not be attending a committee meeting to explain offensive remarks he made about the gay community.
MLA Maeve McLaughlin is also calling for a new Health Minister to be appointed "as soon as possible".
Mr Wells resigned from his position on Monday.
Maeve McLaughlin said any delay in the appointment of a new minister is not acceptable.
She said: "Health cannot be left to drift with no one at the helm.
"It is also important that we see a change of policy rather than just a personality from the DUP so that we genuinely have provision for health is open and accessible to all."
