Conradh na Gaeilge Launches New Irish Language Scheme
Conradh na Gaeilge has launched a new scheme, funded by Foras na Gaelige, to help Irish conversation groups to be established.
SDLP Newry & Armagh MLA and Irish Language Spokesperson Dominic Bradley has welcomed the new scheme.
Mr Bradley said: "Learning language is much more fun in a group context and it only takes one other person to get the conversation going. I would encourage speakers of Irish across the country to seek out a conversation group in their area and join in the craic.
"Where no group exists it is quite easy to establish a new group and Conradh na Gaeilge in the local area will certainly provide all necessary support."

World Irish Dancing Championship commences in Belfast
Around 12,000 people are set to diverge on Belfast this week as the World Irish Dancing Championship takes place in the city. The eight-day event, which began at the Waterfront Hall on Sunday, will see almost 4,000 competitors from across the world compete in different age groups.

Man Arrested Over West Belfast Shooting
A man has been arrested in connection with a paramilitary-style attack in west Belfast. A man, aged in his 30's, was shot in both legs in an alleyway near Westrock Gardens at around 10.30pm on Saturday, 04 August. A 40-year-old man has been detained in police custody.

£2m To Be Distributed To Environmental Groups Suffering Funding Cuts
£2 million from the Carrier Bag Levy is to be distributed to Environmental Groups suffering funding cuts. Environment Minister Mark H Durkan confirmed the money will be used to deliver environmental priorities. The Minister has developed a three-pronged plan to allocate the money. £1m will be made available for a Natural Environment Fund.

OCTF reveals 235 NI-based organised crime gangs
The latest figures have revealed 235 organised crime gangs are currently operating out of Northern Ireland. Security Minister, and Chair of the Organised Crime Task Force (OCTF), Ian Pearson unveiled the statistics as he launched the fourth annual Threat Assessment and Strategy produced by the OCTF.
