NI business confidence on increase
Business confidence is on the increase, a new survey by CBI Northern Ireland has revealed.
Published on Wednesday, the CBI Northern Ireland Business Confidence Survey showed that employment indicators continue to remain positive. However, the manufacturing sector reported a continued fall in confidence.
CBI Northern Ireland Director, Nigel Smyth said that increased costs of doing business in Northern Ireland was a major worry across all sectors, but that he was particularly encouraged by the growth in export performance, as this would be the driving force for future sustainable economic growth.
Funded by its member companies, CBI the main lobbying body for business in the UK.

Political crisis threatens confidence, investment and jobs
Three-quarters of Northern Ireland business leaders say the collapse of the Good Friday Agreement would destroy business confidence. The unexpected result was part of a BBC Northern Ireland Business Day Poll survey which also revealed that if current levels of violence escalate, half of local employers would postpone planned investment or cut jobs.

NIO Minister Jane Kennedy has told delegates at today’s Labour Relation’s Agency (LRA) conference in Belfast that the economy is in a "better position than many other parts of Great Britain". During the meeting, Ms Kennedy highlighted what she described as "the positive improvements" in the Northern Ireland economy over the past decade.
