Two Men Attacked In South Belfast
Two men have been seriously injured after being attacked in south Belfast.
The assault occurred in the Donegall Road area at around 9.30pm on Saturday.
One of the men suffered a serious head injury and is currently in a critical condition in hospital.
The second man suffered facial injuries, however his condition is not believed to be life threatening.
Detective Sergeant Kenneth Leckey said: "The assault occurred whilst a band parade was taking place in the area.
"It is understood that the two males are brothers and I would appeal to anyone who was in this area and witnessed the assault to contact police on the non emergency number 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Man Seriously Assaulted In Co Antrim
A 25-year-old man has been seriously attacked in Co Antrim. The assault occurred in the Hampton Crescent area in Larne at around 12.35am on Saturday. Five masked men armed with baseball bats attacked the victim and he sustained fractures to his arm and leg. He is currently being treated in hospital.

Guns stolen in Co Antrim assault
Police are appealing for information after a gang assaulted a man and stole his guns in Co Antrim. The masked men forced their way into the man's home in Burnbrae in Bushmills at around 1.30am on Tuesday morning. They hit the man before tying his hands behind his back and escaping with three guns.

Afghanistan Veteran On Rape Charge
A bomb-blasted former soldier has appeared in court in Belfast charged with rape and false imprisonment. Gerald Verner, 23, of Forthriver Park, who was deafened by a bomb in Afghanistan, is also accused of inflicting grievous bodily harm, sexual assault and threats to kill against the same woman.

A number of masked men attacked a 24-year-old man during an aggravated burglary in south Belfast. The assault happened at a property in the Malfin Drive area at around 10.10pm on Wednesday, 07 September. One man has been arrested and is being questioned at Musgrave Police Station. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
