Bus Driver Dies In Belgium Collision
A bus driver from Northern Ireland has been killed in a collision in Belgium.
James 'Geordie' Chance, originally from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, worked for Richmond Coaches Ltd in Lisburn.
His co-driver, Stephen Cardwell, is in hospital where his condition is describes as stable.
The coach was carrying schoolchildren when it hit a motorway bridge and overturned. Mr Chance, who was in his mid -50s, is believed to have been sitting bedside his co-driver at the time.
Two boys are currently being treated in hospital.
The Mayor of Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has expressed his sorrow for the family of Mr Chance, who died following a coach accident in Belgium on Sunday. Councillor Thomas Beckett said: "My deepest sympathy is with Mr Chance’s family.
"This is a terrible tragedy. We think too of the second coach driver who was injured in the accident and of the schoolchildren and their teachers from Brentwood School in Essex who were travelling on the coach.
"My prayers and thoughts are with Mr Chance's family who will be suffering the most profound shock and grief, and, I know the wider community with Elected Members of the Council will be praying for the family at this terrible time. We also are thinking of Mr Chance's colleagues and his friends at Richmond Coaches."

Work Underway For Free Hospital Parking In Northern Ireland
