New E-minister goes ‘online’ at Ideal Home Exhibition
The newly appointed e-Minister for Northern Ireland, Ian Pearson has visited the Ideal Home Exhibition at the King's Hall to see in action one of the key elements in electronic service delivery for Northern Ireland – the OnlineNI web portal.
By using internet-connected PC’s at the Show, the Minister was able to see first hand how OnlineNI enables the public quick and easy access to electronically available government information.
The Minister said: "This highly useful resource offers citizens and businesses a one-stop electronic access point to government and public services on the web.
"We currently have over 1,800 public sector websites accessible through one very impressive facility making it far and away the most convenient method for local people to access a wide variety of public service information.''
The OnlineNI stand is located in Hall 2 of the King’s Hall complex and will be available to members of the public throughout the normal opening hours of the Ideal Home Exhibition which this year runs from 10-14 September.
