SF Disappointed Over Lack Of Response Over Sale Of NAMA's Northern Portfolio
Sinn Féin has expressed disappointment that Finance Minister Michael Noonan has not responded to correspondence from the Finance Committee inquiry into the sale of NAMA's northern portfolio.
MLA Daithí McKay has said NAMA have a responsibility to come forward to answer questions.
He added: "Officials from the Department of Finance and Personnel will attend the committee inquiry tomorrow and I look forward to their contribution."
Farmer Fined For Pollution Offence
A Co Antrim farmer has been fined for a pollution offence at Lisburn Magistrates' Court.
Gavin Hayes from Lough Road was fined £400 and ordered to pay an offenders levy of £15.
On 11 March 2014, a Water Quality Inspector, acting on behalf of the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, inspected a waterway at 14 Glenavy Road, Ballinderry, and observed it to be discoloured with a large amount of sewage fungal growth on the bed of the waterway.
The polluting discharge was traced to farm premises owned by Mr Hayes. The length of waterway impacted by the discharge was approximately 500 metres.
Samples taken at the time of the incident confirmed that the discharge contained poisonous, noxious or polluting matter which was potentially harmful to fish life in the receiving waterway.
Alliance Expresses Sadness Over Death Of Man In Ibiza
Alliance Councillor John Blair has expressed his sadness at the sudden death of a Newtownabbey man in Ibiza.
Alan Drennan, from Glengormley, passed away on Sunday while holidaying on the Spanish island. The cause of the 21-year-old's death is not yet known.
Newtownabbey Councillor Mr Blair said: "The death of someone so young and in apparent good health is a shock for everyone, and has brought sadness to our entire community."

NI Drug Deaths Double
The number of drug related deaths registered each year has more than doubled over the last decade rising from 39 deaths in 1997 to 86 last year. The 86 fatalities were registered in Northern Ireland where the cause of death was drug related, either due to legal or illegal drugs.

Charity calls for cardiac checks in NI
A leading local charity has expressed concern that measures to combat sudden cardiac deaths will be introduced in England but not in Northern Ireland. The Health Secretary, Dr John Reid, recently announced that screening will be introduced for close family members of sudden cardiac death syndrome victims in England.

Hundreds of offensive weapons seized at airport
Customs officers have seized the largest ever single consignment of “potentially offensive weapons” destined for Northern Ireland. Swords, knives, death stars, machetes and bladed knuckle-dusters were just some of the 338 weapons seized by officers on Thursday in a consignment which arrived in Northern Ireland on a flight from New Jersey in the US.
