New Touring Exhibition At Antrim Castle Gardens
A new touring exhibition is to stop off at Antrim Castle Gardens.
Subterraneans will be at The Oriel Gallery from Thursday 6 August until Tuesday 15 September.
The exhibition explores how aspects of Beat culture have influenced visual art and design and includes work by young unknowns, recent graduates and world renowned artists including Marcel Duchamp, Sam Taylor-Wood, Gavin Turk, Roy Lichtenstein and Yoko Ono.
It will showcase work in a range of media including photography, illustration, printmaking, recordings, books and ephemera.
The Beat Generation was a group of authors whose literature explored and influenced American culture in the post-World War II era. Popularised in the 1950s, the central elements of Beat culture are the rejection of standard narrative values, the spiritual quest, exploration of American and Eastern religions, rejection of materialism, portrayals of the human condition, experimentation and exploration.

This year, the Winter Fair returns to the Eikon Exhibition Centre at Balmoral Park, Lisburn, on 08 December and is an opportunity for farmers, exhibiters and industry specialists to meet.

Belfast's new Titanic Exhibition Centre (TEC), sited opposite Titanic Studios in Titanic Quarter, opened today, 17 September, delivering a huge boost for local business in the process. The 6,000 square metre structure will be used as a potential venue for exhibitions, community and sporting events, as well as large-scale banquets.
