16 Lambs Stolen In Dungannon
A total of 16 lambs have been stolen from the Eglish Road area in Dungannon.
The theft was reported to police just after 8.30pm on Saturday.
Chief Inspector Graham Dodds said: "The farmer who owned these lambs has informed us that they would not be ready to enter the food chain for the next 6 weeks and that their meat would be poisonous to humans if eaten.
"I would therefore ask any abattoirs to be aware of this and carry out the proper checks on any lambs that they come into contact with in the next few weeks.
"Anyone with any information about this theft is asked to contact Dungannon Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
