Sinn Féin Offices Targeted In Paint Bomb Attack
The offices of Sinn Féin have been targeted in a paint bomb attack in west Belfast overnight.
Graffiti referring to the party was also painted on the Falls Library.
West Belfast MP Paul Maskey condemned the attacks.
Mr Maskey said: "The graffiti attack on Sinn Féin and on the Library is an attack on the entire community. The Falls library is an extremely busy one serving people from all over Belfast.
"I have spoken to a number of constituents today who are appalled at the attacks. I urge those responsible to stop this type of activity and involve themselves in a more productive pursuit that will serve rather than damage the community."
GO Power Scoops £58m NI Water Contract
Cookstown form GO Power has scooped a £58 million contract with NI Water.
In a joint venture, GO Power and NI Water will focus on delivering a cost effective service with an emphasis on environmental impact.
Through the contract, 30% of NI Water's electricity will come from renewable sources, bringing the company closer to the NI Assembly's target of 40% of electricity from renewable sources by 2020.
Ronan Larkin Director of Finance and Regulation with NI Water, commented: "This is one of NI Water's largest contracts in terms of annual revenue expenditure. We are confident the terms of the contract will provide excellent value for money for NI Water while meeting our own environmental target of 40% renewable by 2021."
Call For Management Of Maydown Precision Engineering To Meet With Union
SDLP Foyle MLA Colum Eastwood has called on management at Maydown Precision Engineering, now Schivo NI, to meet with representatives from the trade union Unite to discuss the concerns of workers at the company.
Mr Eastwood said: "Unite represents more than 60 core workers at the company and historically have had a good relationship with management.
"There are obvious concerns for those workers who are being made redundant, and it is clear to me that it would be beneficial for all involved if management would engage fully in discussions with Unite.
"There is a long history of trade union involvement at this site and the SDLP support the right of staff to unionise and work together."
