Van Driver Hijacked In West Belfast
A driver has been attacked after being hijacked in west Belfast on Thursday.
The incident happened in the Springfield Drive area at around 4.50am.
A man ran in front of the van driver's vehicle, broke the side window with a bottle and assaulted him.
The driver was ordered out of the van which was later found burnt out in the Distillery Street area.
The hijacker is described as approximately 5ft 10in or 5ft 11in in height, clean shaven, of slim to medium build and aged in his mid 20's.
He was wearing a white/grey Adidas top and dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said: "I would appeal to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or observed the car travelling between Springfield Drive and Distillery Street to contact Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime at Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."

Post Office Van Driver Hijacked In West Belfast
A post office van driver has been hijacked and threatened with a knife in west Belfast. The vehicle was stolen in Ross Road on Tuesday which was later found abandoned in the Valleyside Close area. A security alert was launched and the part of the Springfield Road was closed on Wednesday, however it has since been re-opened.

Police are hunting two men after a van was hijacked at gunpoint in the Grosvenor Road area of west Belfast. The driver had parked the White Renault Traffic van on the route at around 10.20am on Monday morning, 23 September, when he was approached by the two males, one of whom is believed to have been armed with a gun.

Man Jailed In Connection With Annahilt Cannabis Farm
The PSNI has welcomed the sentencing of a man at Craigavon Crown Court in connection with a cannabis farm disovered in Annahilt in February, 2023. Clive Weir, from the Annahilt area, was sentenced to 18 months in prison and 18 months on licence.

Detectives in Belfast are investigating a suspected arson attack on a 5G mast in the Andersonstown Road area. The incident occurred around 9.55pm on Wednesday, November 13th. Detective Sergeant Faulkner confirmed that officers attended the scene alongside the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service, who successfully extinguished the blaze.
