Coleraine man 'badly shaken' following hatchet attack
Police in Co Londonderry are appealing for information after a man was left badly shaken during an attack on his car.
The man was in his car on the Lower New Mills Road in Coleraine on Monday when his vehicle was attacked by a man wielding a hatchet.
The attacker smashed both the front and rear windows as he tried to snatch a briefcase.
The man eventually fled empty handed following the attempted robbery.
Elsewhere, a man has been injured during the robbery of a fast food restaurant in east Belfast.
The victim suffered a punctured lung and serious cuts to his face when two men, posing as telephone engineers, attacked him in the Upper Newtownards Road restaurant before escaping with a sum of money.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
