Burglaries on NI pensioner's fall
Burglaries at pensioner's homes in Northern Ireland have fallen compared to a year ago, police statistics have revealed.
Released yesterday, the figures show that 421 burglary cases were recorded by police for the period April – July 2003 compared to 584 for the same time last year.
The figures came a day after a 74-year-old woman was assaulted by two men during the attempted burglary of her home in north Down.
It also comes a week after a report by Help the Aged showed that there is concern amongst older people at a perceived rise in assaults and burglaries.

Police Officers Disciplined For Failing To Tell Doctor About Woman's Head Injuries
Two police officers have been disciplined after they failed to let their colleagues and a police doctor know that a woman had sustained a head injury, a Police Ombudsman investigation has concluded. The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

37% Drop In Number Of Burglaries In NI
The number of burglaries in Northern Ireland has dropped by 37 per cent from 281 last year to 177 this year. Police launched Operation Cordella across NI and the number of domestic burglaries affecting people over 60 years of age decreased by 13.9 per cent from 65 last year to 56 this year.

15% Drop In Number Of Burglaries In NI
The number of burglaries across Northern Ireland has reduced by 15%, according to police. Operation Cordella was was launched in Northern Ireland between 15 February and 13 March. Figures revealed a 15% drop in overall domestic burglaries from 540 last year to 460 this year.
